Low-middle stakes cash games are busy, but there isn’t much high-stakes action. PKR offers all of the popular tournament varieties, including sit & go’s, guaranteed tournaments, and satellites for major, live events. PKR Poker Bonus

The PKR Poker bonus is designed to benefit all types of players. Small stakes and less frequent players can get a bonus that suits them, and so can high stakes or active players. In total, there are four bonuses to choose from.The bonus options are as follows:

PKR Poker Cash Games

PKR runs cash games starting at $.01/.02 up to $100/200. Most traffic is based in low-middle stakes NL Hold’em games. There is a bit of Omaha traffic, but if you’re an Omaha junkie, try another room. During peak hours, PKR generates in the range of 1000-1200 real money cash game players.

PKR Poker Tournaments

The selection of tournaments at PKR is pretty decent. On top of all the typical sit & go tournaments, PKR also runs a ‘Terminator’ bounty tournament. In these tournaments, up to 50% of each players buy-in goes to their bounty. So, if you knock out 2 players, you’ve broken even minus the tournament fee. If you knock out 3 players, you’ll make a profit regardless of where you ultimately finish.

PKR also offers what they call the Terminator Xtreme sit & go’s. In these tournaments, 100% of the buy-in goes toward the bounty. So, in this format, the only thing that matters is knocking people out.

While the PKR guaranteed tournaments won’t give you the huge prize pools of some larger rooms, they continue to add more guaranteed tournaments to the schedule as the player base grows. The size of the guarantees are getting larger as well.

Every Saturday at 7pm GMT, PKR runs the $20,000 Saturday Showdown. The Saturday Showdown has a $55 direct buy-in, and satellites can be played for as little as $6.05. Freeroll tournaments for this event are also available at 1:15 pm GMT.

On Sundays, the $25,000 Sunday Classic is held at 7pm GMT. This is the biggest weekly guaranteed tournament that PKR holds, and it has a direct buy-in price of $65. Satellites for this event start at $7.15 and freerolls are available at 5:20pm GMT every day except Sunday and Wednesday.

The PKR Masters is a $100,000 guaranteed tournament which is run at 8:00 pm GMT on the last Saturday of every month. Players get 5,000 starting chips, and the direct buy-in price is $250. Satellites for the PKR Masters start at just $.52, yeah - 52 cents!

PKR Poker Graphics & Software

Unmatched, amazing, fun, addictive, interactive. These are just some of the words that describe the table graphics & software at PKR Poker. If you’ve never played here, then you have no idea what you’re missing. This is not your typical ‘click, click, ding’ poker site. Don’t think ‘poker’, think PlayStation 3. Players have the option to move the camera angle to wherever they like, or set it to automatically move as the action goes around the table. For those of you with a widescreen monitor, you can also resize the screen as wide as you like to see more of the action around you….a very cool feature.

Tired of the same old, boring chat boxes? At PKR, players can choose from dozens of player actions, comments, and sounds at the click of a mouse. Want to boo someone? Hit the ‘boo’ button. Want to throw your arms up and cheer? You can do that too. Our favorite though is the ‘chicken’ button, where it makes your lifelike avatar put its arms back in the official chicken impersonation position and say “bawk bawk bawk bawk bawk”. Some of the other reaction buttons include ‘Oh my god’, ‘dude’, ‘lucky’, ‘nice hand’, and so many more. If you hit ‘loser’, your avatar will actually make the L signal on their forehead, while they say ‘loser’ outloud. This stuff is so ridiculously addictive and hilarious that players just need to experience it for themselves.

Player avatars are not only chosen by you, but they’re also completely customizable. First you choose what face your avatar should have, then body type, hair, shirts, pants, jewelry, hats, shoes…you name it! Then, you can also choose the accent of the player, and at the tables you can change their mood. The five mood choices include Happy, Angry, Casual, Sad and Neutral. Depending on your mood, your tone of voice will change.

The software is massively intensive. At over 600MB, you must have a lot of juice running through your system as well as high speed internet access. If you don’t have both of these, don’t even think about downloading PKR.

PKR Poker Promotions

While there aren’t what we would call a ‘lot’ of promotions at PKR, they do have some fun ones. For 33 weeks out of the year, PKR holds what they call the ‘Road to Vegas’ promotion. Qualifying criteria changes every week, and those who meet the criteria get to play in a freeroll with one WSOP package up for grabs. There is even a prize package for the WSOP ladies event, and considering that there aren’t as many women who play, this is a good opportunity for women to go after.

For as little as $2.56, players can satellite into the Asian Poker Tour (APT). This prize package is worth $5,000 and includes your buy-in to the event, plus $2,300 for travel expenses.
